Voice over IP (VOIP)
VOIP is the use of data networks to transmit voice calls.
This basically means that telephone calls may be made over the Internet.

What does this mean to us?
We can have numerous separate telephone lines with no line rental.
If you run a business from home this technology enable you to have a separate
business telephone number without any additional cost.

How does it work?
You are allocated a number by the VOIP provider, this is usually prefixed by your local exchange code.

Incoming calls are charged to the caller as if they were calling any other number.
Outgoing calls charged by VOIP provider, usually similar to other providers.
Usually cheaper for long distance and mobile and definitely cheaper for overseas calls.
Calls free to other users on the same VOIP Provider
Purchase of VOIP telephone handset (Approximately £60 for good quality)
